This Privacy Policy explains how Vexanto ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information through VexEdu, our school management platform, including its website, web application, and Android app (together, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when a school, teacher, parent, or student uses the Service:

• Account information: name, username, phone number, email address, and role (school admin, teacher, parent, student, accountant).
• Student records: name, date of birth, gender, admission number, class/section, attendance records, exam results, homework submissions, and fee/payment records — entered by the school for its own students.
• Payment information: when a parent pays fees online, payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay. We do not store card numbers, UPI PINs, or bank credentials — we only store the resulting transaction reference and amount.
• Communications: messages and notices sent through the platform between school staff and parents.
• Usage data: basic technical information such as IP address and browser/device type, used for security and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate the core features of the Service — attendance, fees, exams, homework, and communication.
• To let parents view their own child's records and pay fees online.
• To communicate with schools about their account or subscription.
• To maintain the security and integrity of the Service.

We do not sell student, parent, or school data to third parties, and we do not use student data for advertising.

3. Children's Data

VexEdu is used by schools to manage records belonging to their enrolled students, who may be minors. This data is entered and controlled by the school itself, acting as the data controller for its students. Parents can view their own child's attendance and fee records through their parent account. We process this data solely to provide the Service to the school and do not use it for any other purpose.

4. Data Sharing

We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Razorpay: for processing online fee payments, in accordance with Razorpay's own privacy policy.
• Legal requirements: if required to do so by law or a valid legal process.
• Within a school: data is visible only to the roles within that school who need it (e.g. a teacher sees their section's students; a parent sees only their own child).

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures — including password hashing, role-based access control, and secure payment processing via Razorpay — to protect information stored on the platform. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure, and we encourage schools to use strong, unique passwords for every account.

6. Data Retention

We retain school and student data for as long as a school's account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case the school wishes to reactivate or export their data. A school may request deletion of its data by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Parents, teachers, and school staff may contact their school administrator to review, correct, or request deletion of their personal information. Schools may contact us directly at any time with such requests.

8. Cookies

The Service uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your session. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
